A big change at the top of Suzuki's management occurs, as Takeshi Hayasaki becomes the new President.
Hayasaki replaces Toru Muraki as the President of Suzuki Motor of America Inc. (SMAI), who was promoted to this position in early June last year, stepping up from the position of Executive Vice President.
Mr. Hayasaki has been a key executive at Suzuki for quite a long time, and his sales and marketing expertise extends to multiple markets, such as Canada, Australia, Europe and Latin America. Between 1999 and 2002 he also served as Assistant to the President of the late American Suzuki Motor Corp.
At the same time, Takao Kudo becomes the Executive Vice President and he will head Suzuki's new After Sales Operations division.
