Suzuki GSX-R1000 and Bandit 1250S Go to India

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki has finally brought one of its most sought-after models to the Indian market, the GSX-R1000 and Bandit 1250S. The two models have been launched in 11 cities - Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Bhubaneshwar, Raipur and Cochin.

"This launch is in line with our aim to deliver outstanding technology and performance to the Indian market. We are pleased to offer exciting riding experience to pro-bikers," Katsumi Takata, Chairman of Suzuki Motorcycle India, said in a release.

Known as a Gixxer in India as well, the GSX-R1000 sportsbike has a 999cc engine of DOHC, 16-valve, TSCC with increased rpm, and comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike’s maximum power is 160 bhp at 9500 rpm and has a maximum torque of 110 Nm at 8000 rpm.

On the other hand, the Bandit 1250S sports tourer comes with a 1,255cc liquid-cooled engine with SDTV fuel injection system, also coupled with a six-speed transmission.

With the launch of these two bikes, we extend our Big Bikes range in India and continue the momentum that had begun with the launch of Hayabusa and Intruder a year ago. said Atul Gupta, VP Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Motorcycle India.

The GSX - R1000 is available in India in two colors - White / Blue & Black /Silver and is priced at Rs. 12,75,000 (US $27,675). The Bandit 1250S also comes available in two colors - Metallic Gleam Gray & Pearl Nebular Black and is priced at Rs. 8,50,000 (US $18,450).
