Finally, the last special edition gixxer has been recently unveiled in the UK, with the biggest displacement machine joining its smaller siblings, the 25th anniversary GSX-R600 and GSX-R750. With just 25 bikes coming to the UK out of only 1,000 being built worldwide, the 25th anniversary GSX-R1000 has a price tag of £11,000.
"As our anniversary celebrations get into top-gear during the summer months, its great to launch our final anniversary tribute model. With the GSX-R1000 the ultimate bike in the range for many enthusiasts, and this version sporting a unique colour, not to mention bespoke logos too, this really is one for the collectors," Suzuki GB marketing manager, George Cheeseman, said in a release.
The special anniversary edition model features a bespoke white colour-scheme with special GSX-R anniversary logos, numbered top yoke plaque, Yoshimura 25th anniversary exhaust cans with engraved end plates, laser-etched wheel rim graphics and a certificate of authenticity.
According to the manufacturer, the bike features race-track technology, such as the Showa Big Piston Forks for enhanced control and maneuverability, a redesigned engine with improved performance and a shorter wheelbase for sharper turning.
Suzuki’s British division is also preparing for a special day to mark the 25th anniversary of the GSX-R sports bike range. Planned for June 20, the day will feature a host of attractions, centered around Suzuki's exhibition unit. All three special edition gixxers are available to potential customers through an online reservations process.
