The 'eye can see you' RCD consists of a miniature camera mounted on the rear bumper which offers drivers extra visibility when the reverse gear is selected. This helps reduce the risk of damage in event of a crash while parking and enhance safety for children or pets who may be behind the car.
The new RCD mirror system is fitted above the number plate and transmits a high resolution image to a 3.5-inch screen on the electro-chromatic surface of the rear view mirror. It also has a dimming feature and it is priced at £459 including VAT.
The SZ4 and SZ5 models also benefit from a hidden interface module installed directly to the rear of the audio system, to be used for i-pods. It costs £119 and enables the driver to select the media files via the steering wheel mounted or in-dash audio controls.
Sound quality on the aforementioned models, which are already equipped with six speakers (seven on SZ5), can be enhanced by fitting four 250 watt tri-axial Clarion door speakers. The speakers are custom fit direct replacements and cost £159 including VAT. A speaker upgrade for the three door version is also available for £99 including VAT.
Extra body protection is available for the Grand Vitara five-door model thanks to a set of charcoal grey wheel arch trims and a pair of fully load bearing aluminum side steps. The kit is available for £499 including VAT plus dealer fitting. Also on offer ready for the winter is a front and rear skid plate set finished in anthracite grey and available for £259 including VAT.
