Suzuki Announces Prices for the New Grand Vitara and Equator

Suzuki Motor Corp. has announced pricing for the all-new Equator and Grand Vitara compact SUV's. The model will offer as standard a new version of the four-cylinder engine that will provide better mileage, along with a significantly more powerful V6 engine that delivers both better fuel economy and lower emissions than the earlyer V6 model it will replace. The models of the new Grand Vitara are scheduled to arrive in the showrooms this month.

“Suzuki offers a range of highly capable, value-packed vehicles that combine attractive exterior and interior styling with the performance and functionality requirements to meet some of the most demanding needs of American car buyers,” said Mark Harano, executive vice president, American Suzuki Automotive Operations. “With the arrival of the all-new Equator pickup truck, a natural fit with Suzuki’s off-road heritage and lifestyle-driven DNA, we’re extremely excited about the forthcoming 2009 model year.” according to the Suzuki press release.

The all new Suzuki Equator model was created in a combined effort with Nissan North America and the new model will be available in Extended Cab as well as Crew Cab. The model will be available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Suzuki offers Crew Cabin variants in both short bed (5') and Long Bed (6') that can easily accommodate loads ranging from ATV's to motorcycles and has a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds. The new 2009 Suzuki Grand Vitara is now available in four trim levels: Base, Premium, Xsport and Luxury. The base model will be a four-cylinder RWD trim that has as standard equipment that si by far very generous, it includes air conditioning with automatic climate control and micron air filtration system, trip computer, power windows, mirrors and door locks, remote keyless entry, tilt steering wheel, automatic on/off headlamps, four speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3/XM Satellite Radio, capable audio system and 16-inch wheels.

The price of the models will start from $19,649 and will go up to $25,649 for the top of the line models.
