SUV-Styled Opel Adam Coming in Late 2014

At the Geneva Motor Show this year, Opel showed us the Adam Rocks Concept, an off-roading version of their city car they had revealed a year earlier. It seems this concept is indeed headed to production, as one of Opel's employees has let slip the fact that an SUV-styled Adam will enter production.

Automotive News Europe has learned that a soft-roader inspired by the Rocks concept will enter production. As you'd expect, it will have beefy bumpers and a slightly raised ride height, though it probably won't feature 4x4 like the Panda.

This beefed up Adam will enter production in late 2014, at least according to the report. We say that because cash-strapped Opel has recently stopped production of the Adam, despite it being one of the only high-demand products they make. In addition, the Adam Convertible has been rumored to go on sale soon, but has failed to do so. Both the convertible and crossover models can only go on sale after extensive road testing, which has yet to start.
