SUV Does Pirouette on Russian Highway

The fact that SUVs are taller than all other comparable passenger vehicles on the road may make them safer in the event of a crash, but it makes them more prone to crashing, in the first place. This silver SUV perfectly illustrates the point, as its driver loses control after a sudden lane change on the highway.
The vehicle enters a severe oversteer maneuver, and hits the exterior guard rail wit the front, only for it to be spun round a few times, before finally stopping. It looks exactly like a ballet pirouette, and it is quite graceful, sans the actual crash, of course.

In the end, the crash was not severe or life-threatening, and the driver definitely walked away unscathed, yet it does show how easy it is to lose control of a vehicle with a high center of gravity, and at high speeds.

Think very carefully if you actually want or need an SUV, and weigh in all the pros and the numerous cons, before actually going out and buying one. Also, if doing lots of highway miles is your thing, then we would advise you to steer clear of any SUV, and just get a comfy sedan, hatchback or estate.
