Traffic, especially in major cities, needs to be fluid and uninterrupted by people not abiding the by rules. We admit that some traffic laws are of no real use in the real world and just sound good on paper. However, there are those, very basic of rules which keep cars from crashing into one another by the hundreds every day.
The driver of the Lada in this video gives us a clear demonstration of why it’s bad to make a U-Turn in a busy intersection and why most large junctions clearly have signs forbidding it. Thankfully, damage to both cars involved was (probably) minimal by the looks of it, with the Lada’s very thick steel body proving that concentrating on crumple zones isn’t necessarily the way to go for modern automakers.
So, next time you need to make a U-Turn in an intersection similar to the one in the video, take our advice and just don't. Wait for a proper place to turn around and do it safely.
