When Toyota and Subaru started their JV sportscar project, they were expecting this to become a hit, but this is one thing and having the entire lot allocated to one big country sold out in three hours is another thing.
This is what happened in Australia, where the Subaru BRZ was offered online, with all 201 cars finding owners in three hours. Customers had to place a deposit of three to five thousand Australian dollars, which means that the cars were really purchased and this wasn’t some sort of scheme.
However, if you want a BRZ and didn’t get the chance to get your mouse on one, don’t panic, Subaru is still accepting orders for the coupe, but the second lot of cars will enter the delivery process early next year.
