A bit earlier, we gave you a rendering showing the convertible version of the Subaru BRZ and now we’re going to talk some more about the Japanese coupe.
The Toyobaru project is giving us an affordable sports car, but Subaru isn’t looking to gain profit from volume sales of the coupe. According to Automotive News, the automotive producer wants to gain image points by introducing the BRZ instead.
It is expected that Toyota’s version of the car, the GT 86, will surpass the BRZ in terms of sales, even through the two cars are nearly identical. However, Subaru was responsible with developing the 200 hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine used by all three cars and the company is looking to raise awareness on its trademark horizontally opposed engine through this.
