Last month, Subaru reported that August 2013 was its best ever sales month in the United States with 41,061 vehicles delivered. Today, the Japanese company announced a new US market record, the best September sales month in the company’s history.
September 2013 sales increased 15 percent over the same month last year, Subaru revealed, adding that year-to-date sales are now at 313,407 - 28 percent higher than the same period in 2012. The Forester was Subaru’s best-selling US market vehicle last month, with 10,620 units (75.1 percent increase), while the Outback reached 8,143 customers (-23.1 percent). Despite being down 7.4% compared to September 2012, Subaru sold 4,622 examples.
“With strong owner loyalty and new owners joining our brand at a record pace, we expect to close the year with more than 400,000 vehicles sold,” said Bill Cyphers, senior vice president of sales at Subaru of America.
