Word has it South Korean automaker SsangYong is set to unveil a Nissan Juke rival at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.
According to a report from Auto Express, the new vehicle will arrive in close-to-production guise and sport several design cues from the XIV-1 concept showcased in Frankfurt two years ago. The small crossover will be underpinned by a new compact chassis and get brand new petrol and diesel 1.6-liter engines.
The yet unnamed vehicle is scheduled to try and have a slice of the Juke’s European market cake starting January 2015 and have a starting price of around £12,000 (€14,200 / $19,300).
Actual details are still scarce, but it’s believed new powertrain technology is possible thanks to a generous investment coming from SsangYong’s Indian owners Mahindra & Mahindra Limited.
