SsangYong has already confirmed its intentions to return to Germany stronger than anytime before, with some new models, addressed to the whole Europe, expected to be released in the near future. A new vehicle was believed to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show this year but the company has recently revealed that the Geneva Motor Show in March will actually witness the debut of its Actyon Sports replacement.
Called SUT 1, the new vehicle will be displayed at the Swiss venue in the form of a concept, so the final production model could receive some modifications before it will hit the market. SsangYong says production will begin in early 2012, soon after the current Actyon Sports will be phased out.
The concept will measure 4.99 meters in length, 1.91 meters in width and 1.76 meters in height and will offer room for four passengers. It will be powered by a 2.0-liter diesel engine that would generate somewhere around 155 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque.
The car will be offered with either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive, with the engine to be mated to a manual or an automatic transmission.
The Actyon lineup currently comprises two engines, a 2.0-liter diesel and 2.3-liter gasoline, with the latter developing 150 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 214 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. In terms of performance, the vehicle can only achieve a maximum speed of 101.9 mph (164 km/h) while sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h takes 12.2 seconds.
