When they unveiled the Zoe Concept at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, Renault said that it was 90 percent identical to the production version of the electric car that would arrive early this year. We now have some spy photos to see what happens when they go the full 100 percent.
It’s expected that the Clio-based electric car will be the most popular and therefore the best selling of all Renault’s Zero Emissions rage. The drivetrain will reportedly be derived from what the Nissan-Renualt Group has learned with the Leaf EV.
The Zoe will arrive later this year, powered by a 66 kW electric motor that will ensure nippy handling and a range of about 160 km or 100 miles. Interestingly enough, Renault has already pledged to offer a hotter version of the Zoe, offering about 134 hp and 271 Nm of torque. Now that’s the sort of EV we look forward to.
