Here are the latest spy shots featuring a test mule for the Clio RS. Despite the fact that the body features a five door configuration and the nose belongs to the GT or Gordini versions of the popular French car, this is obviously an RS model, judging by the fact that it’s got that double exhaust configuration that would be useless if this isn’t a performance car.
So, is Renault now making the Clio RS with two extra doors, and what does this have to do with the automaker’s intention to turn it into a veritable icon like the MINI and Cinquecento? We don’t know, but all should be revealed at next year’s Paris Motor Show.

So what about what’s under the bonnet? Well, the current generation has a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine which we love for its honesty, but it has been around since the age of the dinosaurs. Don’t get us wrong, we love the engine, but it will likely be replaced by a 1.8-liter turbo shared with Mercedes, which could produce 210 hp in the RS.
