These are the best, most clear pictures we have of the new Renault Clio hatchback, spotted in a five-door configuration on a frozen track. It looks like Renault finally decided to reinvent de humble Clio, and it’s about time.
The rear doors have been moved around a bit on the Mk IV Clio. They made it look a bit smaller, and it’s got a new handle next to the back of the glass, like Alfa has been doing for a while. Also, the photos show a hugely impressive character line at the bottom of the doors. It gives the impression that the car has an arched back and is ready to pounce.
Round the front, the new grille will be inspired by the DeZir sportscar concept that was shown in Paris two years ago.
The engine range should include a 0.9-liter three-cylinder engine with 90 hp and a 1.2-liter turbo with 112 hp. We’re big fans of the Clio RS, and most clubs and forums agree the new one will arrive powered by a 1.6-liter developed with Mercedes and good for about 210 or 220 hp.
