Our spy photographers from Scandinavia sent us this fresh set of images, showing another F-Type roadster prototype. So, why is Jaguar testing a car they already have in production? The answer is simple: new engines.
With only a new hood, missing rear skirt and a miss-fitting exhaust to go by, this looks like a mystery we aren't going to be able to solve.
Our spies tell us this could be the "downsized" four cylinder turbo that's been going round the rumor mill the past couple of months. Indeed, the black hood and white body seem identical to the test prototype we showed you in November. But the keen-eyed among you will probably notice our latest spyshots show a quad exhaust system.
There's no reason to have as many pipes as cylinders, which is why we think think this could a V8. If that's the case, than the convertible is getting an upgraded 5-liter with 550 hp, just like the one available on the coupe.
