Last year, the guys from BMW were caught completely off-guard when they went out for a photo shoot of the new 2 Series Active Tourer with the car completely undisguised. That was the moment when we realized that the first FWD Bimmer will be a 2er and will look exactly like the Active Tourer Outdoor Concept.
The car we spotted back then wore the 225i badge around the back hinting at a 2-liter petrol engine for the new model. This time around, the SAT (Sport Active Tourer) was spotted near the Arctic Circle, performing tests in extremely cold weather, to see how it will cope with well below zero degrees temperature.

Another interesting thing to test out is the front-wheel-drive and how it handles snow and ice. Last but not least, the rear wiper can now be observed and its unusual location: under the rear spoiler. Usually, the wiper is positioned on the bottom of the rear window to cover more space but this time it’s the other way around. I’m sure the engineers over at BMW have some sort of explanation for this unconventional location but I can’t really see it right now.
