If you need a large car that's both a good executive cruiser and a family car, why not ignore all those overgrown SUVs and go for an estate that handles and looks great.
Audi is a clear favorite in this segment, having focused more than its German rivals on the practical side of things. However, Mercedes is coming in hot with this new T-Model C-Class. The new estate is obviously based on the same platform as the new W205 sedan, but comes with a much larger cargo space. It's not only going to be better for large items, but also more practical, with nets, rails and dividers specifically designed to keep everything in its place.
Over the current generation estate model, the S204, this new car will offer a significant improvement in fuel economy, as well as lower NVH levels. Reduced weight and a much longer wheelbase, by 80mm, will also mean superior dynamics.
As you guys can see, the design is pretty much the same. We're looking at a car in the Avantgarde line, designed to look a little bit more sporty. There will also be an Exclusive line with a very small Mercedes star on the bonnet, not in the grille.
We expect the S205 C-Class Wagon/Estate to make its official debut in Geneva, two month from now, or at a private event a bit later on.
