Slammed Mercedes G-Class Looks Like a Racecar, Has Individual Throttle Bodies

Slammed Mercedes G-Class rendering 1 photo

In the same way that Mercedes-Benz didn't expect the massive commercial success of the G-Class when it originally introduced this as a military vehicle, I'm sure that German engineers didn't see the rendering we have here coming.
This pixel play is part of a growing trend that sees machines taken extremely far from their factory form - the occasions on which the resulting contraptions make sense are few and this doesn't seem to be one of them.

For one thing, the Gelandewagen has been gifted with the kind of wheels you'd expect to find on a supercar, while it now sits uber-low (the latter feat could probably be achieved in real life, with the help of air suspension).

Then there's the aero package of the G Wagon. For instance, that front splitter seems to have flown off a racecar and got trapped in the lower part of the G Wagen's front apron.

A generous section of the hood has been cut off, so we can now see the individual throttle bodies that allow the Merc's V8 to breather freely.

Yasid Oozear is the aficionado behind this render, with the digital artist constantly enjoying such visual trips and taking great pleasure in splitting opinions.

In fact, here's what the gear head had to say about the work, which is part of his Mutant Series: "The G-Class Mutant with a different approach. Someone mentioned a roof for a more aerodynamic performance so this could work, hah!"

Now, in case you're wondering how the whole Mutant thing goes, here's a Ferrari F40 that has received a somewhat similar treatment - no machine is safe these days, not even the icons, regardless of the segment they come from.
