Only a few days after making fun of it for the fake engine sound, it's shocking that I have to say a couple of nice things about the Skoda Kodiaq. One of them is that the lime green paint is awesome and the other that the door protection system is a much-needed feature on a large urban vehicle.
As you might have guessed already, this is not the "official" story about the Kodiaq. You can check that out here, complete with all the necessary tech details, that is if you haven't already concluded that the Kodiaq is a big Skoda crossover that will come with 1.4 and 2-liter engines.
The first video we want to focus one comes with Skoda's blessing and takes the form of an official walkaround. That's how we found out this color is called Speed Yellowgreen and is exclusive to the model. It looks fantastic and might be even better on an Octavia RS 230 with the black pack. We are allowed to dream, right?
We saw something similar but not identical on the VisionC Concept of 2014, the one that previewed the Superb. I think it's safe to say that green should be the official Skoda color.
The other video is from Australian journalists that thought the Kodiaq's door protection system was cool. We saw something similar on Ford's European Focus and Kuga, but it never caught on. The idea is that when you open the door, a plastic bit pops out to protect not only your paint but that of the guy next to you.
If you have kids, you know how they never pay any attention to their surroundings and don't understand the notion of "expensive paint." And let's face it, if you're looking to buy the Skoda Kodiaq, you definitely have kids.
Not all the Kodiaq models will look like. You'll be able to choose GreenLine models that are streamlined, Sport and the L&K luxury flagship.
