Skoda Fabia RS and Greenline II Production Debuts

Skoda has launched the series production of two new, special versions of the Fabia sub-compact, which are placed at opposite corners of the range, judging by their dynamic abilities.Starting from now, customers can buy the Fabia RS hot hatch & estate and the second generation of the Fabia Combi GreenLine (the eco-friendly model of the range).

The Fabia RS and Fabia Combi RS are powered by a 1.4 liter TSI powerplant that uses both turbocharging and supercharging to develop 180, hp. The engine, which can also be found on the Volkswagen Polo GTI, offers improved efficiency by using the twin-charge technology, allowing the Fabia to return a fuel consumption of 6.4 liters per 100 km.

Skoda Auto introduced the aggressive Fabia RS and Fabia Combi RS at the Geneva International Motor Show. For the first time ever, both RS versions are fitted with a four-cylinder 1.4 liter petrol engine with double supercharging. And there is another first - the sports version of the manufacturer's smallest model is now also available as an estate (Combi),” stated the press release.

The Fabia Greenline II, which is powered by a 75 hp 1.2 liter TDI diesel engine, uses multiple features that allow it to offer a fuel consumption of just 3.4 liters/100 km. These include a Stop-Start system, braking energy recovery, a gear change indicator and others. The common-rail diesel unit emits 89 grams of CO2/km (69.2 mpg).
