There has been talk of Sergio Marchionne stepping down from his top position in Fiat and Chrysler, but for now, he seem to firmly at the helm of the two carmakers.
Bloomberg reports that the CEO has also been elected as Chrysler chairman of the board, so he’s very unlikely to encounter opposition regarding the changes he wants to make. In addition, the American carmaker has named Leo Houle and John Lanaway as independent directors, effective immediately. They replace Robert Kidder, George Gosbee and Scott Stuart, who have resigned from their posts.

Probably the biggest plan that the CEO has is to seamlessly merge Fiat and Chrysler into an automotive giant. To do this, he has recently acquired a controlling stake in the American company.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
