SEAT Teases New Model Ahead of Frankfurt Debut

IAA will open its doors to the public in just a few weeks and although most of the carmakers have already presented their goodies for the show, some are a little late and prefer to tease us a bit before the German event. This is also the case with Spanish carmaker SEAT, which announced that it will join the group of car manufactures that attend the show with new concepts, but remained entirely tight-lipped on the subject.

The only thing we know at the moment is that the new concept developed by the Spanish engineers comes in the form of a sedan and will be unveiled next month in Frankfurt.

If we’re going to trust the rumors available at this point, the new SEAT model is actually a preview of the new generation Toledo which, in its turn, could serve as the foundation for the next Leon. Of course, SEAT hasn’t commented on the matter, but given the fact that the Toledo is already an old model, Frankfurt could be the right time to launch a refreshed version.

The third generation SEAT Toledo was officially unveiled in 2004, in the form of a concept called Toledo Prototipo, at the Madrid Motor Show, while the production-ready flavor was revealed during the same year, in Paris.

If rumors prove to be true, SEAT will most likely launch the production version of the new Toledo at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March 2012, while sales will probably debut shortly after that.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
