To keep its Audi A4 looks interesting for coming years, SEAT has given th Exeo saloon and ST models a facelift and some engine upgrades. The front fascia sees new bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights (standard on Sport, optional on SE), while the rest of the styling upgrades area also pleasant to look at. The pair will debut in Frankfurt next month and will arrive on the scene with new alloy wheels, better trim inside and a number of other tweaks. Under the bonnet, the efficient 2.0 TDI common rail diesel now has emissions cut to as little as 129 g/km. SEAT already fitted the Exeo with a Multitronic auto/sequential manual gearbox earlier this year, which give the model extra executive car appeal. The box is based on CVT technology and stepped ‘changes can be made both in full auto mode and the option of sequential shifts via the sporty, steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. For 2012 SEAT is pledging to lower emissions to 120 grams per km with the introduction of Start/Stop-equipped Exeo which will, of course, enhance its appeal to both environmentally-conscious private buyers and UK fleet managers who demand such low emissions levels from even their executive models. “The arrival of the Exeo marked SEAT’s debut in a new and hard-fought market segment, and the success of the fleet-friendly saloon and estate range is already clear. Now, with this great new look and impressive engineering changes I’m sure the Exeo will draw the crowds to both our Frankfurt show stand and, in due course, our UK dealerships,” stated Managing Director Peter Wyhinny of SEAT UK, where the Exeo will be sold from £19,285. autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
