We previously reported that the VW Up! became available with an automatic option and now it’s sister car SEAT Mii’s time to do the move.
SEAT recently announced that the Mii is being offered with an optional automated version of its five-speed manual transmission. The transmission relies on electromechanical actuators to control the gate selection, as well as to engage/disengage the gears and uses a motor for operating the clutch. The transmission is only 3 kg (6.6 lbs) heavier than the manual it is based on.
The driver can select from the following modes: D (drive), N (neutral) or R (reverse), as well as use the “manual” mode to change the gears, if he or she doesn’t want to let the the gearbox handle the process.
SEAT has also released the UK pricing for the Mii Auto (the car uses a 75 hp 1.0-liter petrol engine): GBP10,390 for the three-door model and GBP10,740 for the five-door model.
