After 41.3% SEAT’s UK sales consisted of Ecomotive models last year, it was a natural move by seat to give their flagship model, the Exeo, the ‘green’ treatment. As with all eco-minded versions of regular cars, the Exeo gets a raft of fuel saving gadgets and gizmos to improve its overall efficiency.
These include the usual start/stop system, regenerative braking, low rolling resistance tires, as well as lowered suspension (which also looks cooler, as well). We say these systems should become standard on all new cars, as they genuinely seem to make a positive difference on all cars fitted with them.

Judging by the final combined fuel consumption figure of 4.5l/100km (62.8 UK mpg), we say they have succeeded. The car is powered by the ultra-familiar 2.0-liter TDI, which comes in two sates of tune (120 and 140 hp). However, we would advise against buying the lesser-powered model as it will end up using more fuel as it will be more strained - 120 hp on a car like the Exeo seems a bit mean.

The car’s low consumption figure is complimented by a very low carbon footprint, with the car emitting only 117 g/km of CO2. The car comes in both sedan and estate versions and the base 120 hp model will set you back £20,040 (€25,500).
