The SEAT Ibiza is celebrating 40 years on the market with a special edition. The model comes in an exclusive exterior color and has 18-inch alloys and bucket seats.
Six generations. Forty years on the market. Six million units sold across Europe. SEAT is celebrating the success story of the Ibiza compact car with the Anniversary Limited Edition.

The Ibiza is Seat's best-selling model, turning the nameplate into an icon over the years. Inspired by the ever-sunny island of Ibiza, Spain, the car first set wheels on the road back in 1984. The first-generation Ibiza was the first vehicle developed solely by the Seat brand without the assistance of a technological partner. It counted, though, on the help of Giorgetto Giugiaro for the exterior design, on the assistance of Karmann for the interior design, and on Porsche for the powertrain.

The Seat CEO, Wayne Griffiths, says that the company now has the best product range in its history and is stronger than ever. Sales have grown by 24 percent in 2023 as the condition of sourcing semiconductors has normalized. The brand sold 288,400 cars last year, which means 24 percent more than in 2022.

The Seat Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition receives generous standard equipment, but also design elements that make it instantly recognizable. Thus, the car is offered exclusively with the Graphene Grey paintwork and rides on 18-inch Cosmo Grey wheels. The lasered "Anniversary Limited Edition" logo shows up on the car’s B-pillar to make sure everyone understands that they are dealing with a special version.

The driver and front passenger will sit in exclusive textile Bucket seats that enhance the sporty nature of the variant. For the same purpose, Seat came up with a new Dark aluminum matt finish for the doors and center console. The layered "Anniversary Limited Edition" logo is also on display on the doorstep.

The all-new Seat Ibiza Anniversary Limited Edition will be available to order in the United Kingdom starting the first quarter of 2024. There is no information on pricing for the moment, but the carmaker will brings more information closer to the launch date, as well as the full specification.

Right now, the Ibiza starts at 19,715 pounds in the UK, which translates to 22,900 euros or $25,074. This much money bring the SE trim with 15-inch alloy wheels and an 8.25-inch display with Seat Connect. At the opposite end of the lineup sits the Xcellence Lux trim, which starts at 23,560 pounds (27,366 euros or $29,964). The top-of-the-line variant comes with 18-inch Dynamic machined alloy wheels, microsuede upholstery wrapping the seats, keyless entry and go, rearview camera as well as adaptive cruise control. The 10-inch digital instrument cluster is also on the menu.

The most potent engine in the lineup is the 1.0 TSI with 110 metric horsepower (109 horsepower), mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
