SEAT Bocanegra Priced at 19,700 Euro

SEAT announced that the new Bocanegra model will go on sale in the United Kingdom at 16,695 pounds (19,700 euro), which means it is approximately 700 pounds more expensive than the Ibiza Cupra it is based on. Deliveries are projected to begin in October.

SEAT Bocanegra, which was officially displayed for the first time at the 2009 Barcelona Auto Show, is equipped with a 1.4-liter TSI engine that generates a maximum power of 180 hp. This means you can get 0 to sixty acceleration in 7.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 140 mph (225 km/h).

The Bocanegra brings a number of enhancements, with the front fascia and the front black parts perfectly representing the name of the car (Bocanegra means black mouth in Spanish). Extended headlights, large front bumper and fog lamps, all contribute to an aggressive yet sporty stance on the road. The car also features standard 17-inch Sira alloy wheels, darkened sunroof and rear windows plus black exterior mirrors casings.

Inside, the car comes with sport seats upholstered with special fabric made up of rhomboids stitched together in red and ending with three-spoke steering wheel with the B capital in the middle of the vertical spoke.

"The surprise unveiling of Luc Donckerwolke's brilliant design concept at Geneva last year caused a real buzz around the show, and I'm sure the appearance of this remarkable production version will do the same in Barcelona," head of SEAT UK, Peter Wyhinny, said back in May when the company rolled out the new model. "I'm very much looking forward to seeing right-hand drive versions of the Ibiza Bocanegra turning heads on UK roads later this year."
