Prototypes for the Opel Insignia have been spotted before, but this one is special. It’s the Insignia Sport Tourer, and our py photographers caught it undergoing hot weather testing in California’s Death Valley recently.
This car is important for Opel fans, of course, but should be a welcomed sight for Buick fans as well. The fact that this wagon that’s sold only in Europe is in America signals that Buick will get a new mid-size estate car added to the Regal range, namely the Regal Sports Wagon. This car should not come earlier than next year, since the 2013 model year Regal is already available.

As an Opel, his prototype reveals a that the bumper, grille and headlights will be revised. We also know that the interior will be getting a bigger infotainment system as well, most likely in combination with better materials and revised finish.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
