The young customer-oriented brand Scion is at a crossroad, having to decide how future vehicles will be, as there are two divergent views are on the board now.
There are two main ideas currently circulating at Scion’s headquarters - one party thinks to keep the future vehicles cheap and youth-oriented by updating the boxy xB and xD hatchback, while the opposite group claims that the brand should go for the premium compact “near-luxury” segment just bellow $30,000 and not to cross onto Lexus and Toyota’s premium segment.
Six years have passed since the second generation Scion xB was launched on the American market without going through major changes. The same situation goes for the xD subcompact, while the range refreshments were made by the FR-S launched in 2012 and the facelifted 2014 tC.
