1979 was a fantastic year for the Corvette, as Chevrolet really tried to align production with the demand. Chevrolet's General Manager said the St. Louis assembly plant where the Corvette came to be was working almost non-stop to build enough cars.
Employees were working two nine-hour shifts, sometimes even required to work on Saturdays. It was the only way Chevrolet could build enough Corvettes, with the yearly production reaching 53,807 units, all coupes.

The people at Empire Autos 11 recently posted a 1979 coupe on eBay, claiming the car comes with a rare color you can hardly find on another Vette produced for this model year.

The garage says the Corvette is painted in Frost Beige, sporting the factory tan interior in "superb condition." Depending on where you look, the paint code 59L (L stands for lower) is either Corvette Light Beige or Frost Beige. Either way, I found estimates that Chevrolet produced close to 3,000 Corvettes with paint code 59.

The vehicle has all the big selling points of a true survivor, coming with the factory 350 V8 engine and an automatic transmission. The drivetrain is in perfect shape, so the Corvette is ready to take you anywhere you want to go. It's unclear if the factory L48 engine has ever been rebuilt, but considering the odometer indicates only 35K original miles, the Corvette might be a beautifully preserved example that has never been altered.

The Corvette spent 42 years with the same owner, and the garage says it has always been properly maintained, garaged, and covered.

While it's hard to tell if all claims are accurate by browsing the photos in the gallery, a 1979 Corvette in such a beautiful shape is rare. The car is ready for a museum, coming with everything you'd expect to find on a 1979 Corvette. The factory hideaway headlights, the dual exhaust system, and the original spare tire are still in the car.

The garage says the vehicle also comes with an upgraded stereo system, so the chances are that this Vette is no longer 100% original. However, returning it to the factory specifications could still be doable, albeit you'll have to inspect everything in person to determine the chances more accurately.

The selling price isn't surprising. This Corvette landed on eBay for auction, with the digital fight already reaching $3,150. However, the owner won't let the car go that easily, as they also configured a reserve. It's still in press at the time of writing despite 14 bids received in a few days online. Anyone can buy this Corvette without a fight by paying $15,000.

The car is located in Bohemia, New York, and considering its condition, it can go to its new home on its wheels, though the buyer might want to preserve the low miles.
