S2000 Is Dead, Long Live 700 hp T1 Honda S2000

Despite its fairly high popularity among car enthusiasts from all over the world, Honda confirmed that the S2000 will be discontinued at the end of the year. But even so, Honda S2000 will remain alive for many years from now on thanks to tuning companies that present astonishing customized version of the car. And the most recent creation comes from T1 Race Development, a company based in Rowlett, Texas, who designed the so-called T1 Honda S2000, an aftermarket model that produces... 701 horsepower.

Only a little is known at this point but we do know the tuner used a Borg Warner S372R turbo combined with 1,000cc Bosch Injectors, a T1 Race manifold and side mounted exhaust pipes. Nevertheless, the car is still equipped with the stock transmission system and the stock rear end so much of the performance boost is mostly based on the aforementioned parts, zercustoms reported.

The top engine version installed on the base S2000 is a 2.0-liter gasoline powerplant that develops 250 horsepower (164 kW) combined with a torque of 153.4 lb-ft. Mated to the same manual 6-speed transmission as the one installed on the customized model, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in no less than 6.2 seconds, with top speed rated at 149.8 mph (241 km/h).

While performance figures for the aforementioned aftermarket S2000 are not available for the time being, we're pretty much sure the 0-100 km/h performance is considerably better. At least this is what that insanely-high power of 700 hp suggests.
