While we posted a video yesterday, where the lack of a guardrail on the highway caused a car to veer off its lane and into oncoming traffic, causing a huge crash, in this video, the guard rail is in place, but it is very flimsy and, in a similar event, the car crashes through it and plants itself into an oncoming vehicle - the one with the dash-mounted camera.
The car that caused the crash seems to have been ‘nudged’ from behind by another car, which dramatically changed its trajectory, in less than a second. If the guardrails were proper guardrails, the other car would have stayed in its lane, limiting the extent of the damage.
It seems that the importance of guardrails is severely overlooked, and as the two videos described here have shown, the consequences of their lack, or bad construction should not be neglected.
