Overtaking Maneuver on Snow Turns Sour For Hyundai i30 Driver

While most new cars now come fitted with ESP, if not standard, it at least is available as an optional extra, most cars on the road still have to make do without it. While it may be of some use in the ‘dry seasons’ of the year, when it will correct the car’s trajectory if the driver exaggerates corner entry speed, it is extremely useful on slippery surfaces, such as snow and ice.
In this video, from Russia, the driver of this Hyundai i30 attempts to overtake the car with the dash-mounted camera, yet he or she fails because the car becomes unstable, and with the clear lack of ESP, getting it to not wobble and point in the right direction becomes increasingly difficult.

The car finally falls off the steep embankment off the side of the road. Also, the speed was just under 90 km/h (55 mph), or around that value, so if any of the cars would have come into contact, the impact would have been quite violent.
