Russian Driver Decides to Overtake at Inappropriate Moment

After seeing so many videos in which Russian drivers just choose the worst possible moment to attempt an overtake, on roads outside of towns, this is something new. The driver in this video decides that it would be a good idea to overtake in an intersection (you can see the traffic lights on the right-hand side of the road), while the light was green for both ways.
Of course he crashes into another car, just over a second after changing lanes. We simply cannot explain why somebody would do such a thing, given that the weather conditions were not the best either - it was snowing, and the road was not what we’d call grippy, so even if he did see the other driver approaching, the car would have been much slower to react, so he was bound to crash into something, somehow, anyway.

This video shows us just how bad overtaking in an actual intersection really is - it should never be done, under any circumstances, as it will most likely end badly.
