There is a very strong point in punishing those who flee from the site of the accident they've caused. In some cases the presence and intervention of a person can save lives and can prevent other damage from occurring.
Besides that, fleeing equals cowardice, which the law does not punish, but in most cases tells a lot about the way some guys really are. Take this Chinese driver, performing a truly revolting illegal u-turn, causing a small trike to crash violently while swerving to avoid a rather violent collision.
Despite the fact that the car is still positioned in such a way that the driver could nowt have missed the accident which ensued, the bastard just turns left and flees the site, leaving the crashed bike and its driver in the middle of the road.
Judging by the violent crash, it's hard to believe that the poor biker made it unhurt. We just hope the driver was caught and paid as dearly as possible for his unspeakable lack of responsibility. Look both ways, then look again!
