Not adapting one’s speed to cope with slippery roads is one of the leading causes of accidents, and you don`t need to see any statistics or reports to know that - you just need to observe how and why accidents happen, and draw your own conclusions.
This Russian driver was driving along slightly too quickly, when he is cut off by an inattentive 18-wheeler driver. He pulls to the left, in order to avoid hitting the back of the truck, yet the maneuver destabilizes the car, and the slippery road makes things even worse.
The car swerves from left to right, narrowly missing a coach and a truck coming the other way, before spinning round and ‘gently’ hitting some cars which were parked on the side of the road. This particular incident could have ended much worse, yet the driver was able to control the car to the best of his abilities, and managed to avoid causing a much larger accident.
