A Kia Seltos dropped from the street down on the beach, but the crash did not ruin the day of the tourists enjoying the sunshine at the beach. The driver walked away with only minor injuries. A 33-year old woman and her 55-year old passenger extracted themselves from the car flipped upside down.
If you know a shortcut to the beach, maybe you should double-check it. There is a chance that it might not lead you the right way. Jokes aside, a CCTV footage captured the moment a Kia Seltos drives straight to the concrete barrier that separates a parking lot and grass area from the Balmoral beach in Sydney, Australia, and drops on the sand upside down.

Luckily, nobody was sunbathing in that particular area of the beach where the car unexpectedly landed, and no bystanders were injured. The beach was zooming with people, due to the fine weather and the start of school holidays.

The car ended up on its roof, in the sand. Several beachgoers rushed to help the driver out of the car. The incident happened last Monday at 1:15 p.m. NSW Police confirmed that emergency services were called to the Esplanade in Mosman suburb, following reports of a car that had rolled over on the beach.

The Kia driver was reportedly trying to exit a parking lot when she miscalculated maneuvers, accidentally engaged Drive instead of Reverse, and accelerated instead of braking. The car collided with the concrete fence, smashed it to pieces, and ended up on the beach, belly up.

The Kia compact crossover sported P-Plates, which are issued for new drivers in Australia. They indicate that the driver had a provisional license, meaning that less than 12 months had passed since her driving exam. The incident shows that she might still need to learn a thing or two about driving before she gets behind the steering wheel again.

The 33-year old female driver only sustained minor head injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene. Her 55-year old male passenger walked away unharmed. Both were wearing seatbelts, and airbags were deployed in the crash. Witnesses claim that the woman kept apologizing for the incident.

The police tested the driver, but the test came back negative, meaning she was not under the influence at the time of the accident.

The beach area was cleared with the help of a crane. But the Kia Seltos suffered extensive damage to the front bumper and is probably a write-off unless the sand attenuated the impact and the roof has not been bent. In order to prevent any spills, the car was towed away in the same upside-down position. Local authorities might take weeks to fix the concrete wall.
