With global sales up by 33 percent and continued strong demand for the Phantom, Ghost and Wraith, British luxury powerhouse Rolls-Royce posts record half-year sales with significant growth across all regions worldwide. It's funny how volume manufacturers struggle with selling cheap motors in this day and age, all while premium and luxury manufacturers are reporting year-over-year increases in sales volume.
If you take into consideration that the cheapest Rolls-Royce model, the Ghost, costs well over $260,000, and the biggest demand came for the uber expensive Wraith, than you might want to tap the British company's shoulder for the remarkable feat. Aside from the over 60 percent increase in Europe, the British manufacturer was met with an almost 40 percent increase in the Asia Pacific region and over 30 percent in the Middle East. The United States and China also saw double-digit growth compared to the first half of the previous year.

However, the biggest growth of them all came from Germany, the home of the Volkswagen Group which actually owns the British luxury automobile marque. According to official data, Rolls-Royce has seen its German sales double over these past six months. Even though the Phantom is getting a little bit old now, officials tell that sales remain strong, while bespoke production continues at record levels across all model families.

“This is an excellent half-year result and demonstrates the continued confidence that our customers have in our company and our fine cars. The new Rolls-Royce Wraith has been a stunning success in the super-luxury segment, setting new modern style and technology leadership benchmarks." said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce CEO.

"Wraith complements the pinnacle performance of the incomparable Rolls-Royce Phantom and the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, the latter first arriving in markets in autumn this year. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars continues to deliver as the world’s foremost superluxury car manufacturer and we are on target for another record year in 2014.”
