Recent reports suggest Cadillac is giving up on offering a range of CTS models and will likely drop both the coupe and wagon versions like bags of unwanted muffin stumps. Because really, who wants a luxury wagon right?
While we still have hope for the coupe segment, there's not much GM can do about the slow-selling estate model, which is going to be put out once the new CTS hits the assembly lines.
Too bad though, as these renderings created by Theophilus Chin show it would be a treat to look at. Cadillac might not have learned how to make an all-turbo engine range like BMW, but they can design with the best of the best.
A wagon would have been important for European sales, but in GM defense, selling a relatively unknown family car is like selling a no-brand smartphone at a major store: everybody is going to avoid it.
If GM really does manage to sell Cadillacs in Europe and China and take on the established Germans, they can always make a wagon later on.
