It took a few good years for the Tesla Model 3 to become one of the best-selling electric vehicles in global markets. The first one rolled off the line back in 2017, and that makes it an aging product in today's fast-moving industry.
Assembly takes place at two factories on as many continents, including California and China, and it doesn't come to life at the brand's facility in Germany, which currently makes the Model Y.

Despite being a rather old product, the Tesla Model 3 is not going anywhere. In fact, the automaker has given it a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year. Unveiled at the end of August, it brings refreshed looks, a few tweaks in the cabin, and a host of improvements that boost the range.

In the visual department, the 2024 Model 3 comes with updated front and rear fascias. The changes revolve around the head- and taillights, which feature LED tech. It also has a new bumper, and Tesla offers different wheels for the popular electric vehicle.

Moving to the cabin, it has a new dashboard panel with integrated ambient lighting, new door cards, a new steering wheel, and additional changes, like the gear selector that was moved to the touchscreen display. A better sound system is available. Those sitting at the rear can enjoy the 8-inch display that can be used to access different entertainment functions and adjust the HVAC system. The main display up front now measures 15.4 inches in diagonal, up from 15 inches. To top it off, the trunk area has become slightly bigger.

As anyone with a slight thing for electric vehicles can tell you, the Tesla Model 3 is offered in a single body style. The car comes as a four-door sedan, and those who want a bit more space and additional ground clearance can order the Model Y crossover. But what if Tesla decided to expand the Model 3 family with a second body style option? The logical move would be to launch a station wagon, and while these cars are not as popular as they once were, as they lost significant ground to crossovers, we think it would probably sell in sufficient numbers to make it profitable.

Obviously, Tesla is not interested in an estate version of the Model 3, but that hasn't stopped the rendering world from imagining what it may look like. The digital illustrations shared above came from sugardesign_1 on Instagram, and they portray the EV with a longer roofline and a redesigned back end that features a bigger cargo area. The pixel manipulator called it the Model 3 GT, though, in our opinion, it deserves a different name. So, what would you call it if you were a big hotshot at Tesla and this vehicle would've been approved?
