We like the Nissan Juke and we like Renaults (we’ve got one lined up for a test drive right now), so naturally, we’re glad to hear that the French car brand will have its own version of the little crossover.
The European supermini segment is rapidly moving into crossover vehicles, as Peugeot will soon debut a jacked up version of the 208. VW meanwhile is planning something smaller than the Tiguan, while BMW will bring an X2 to market soon. Small off-roaders are big hits right now.
Renault’s answer to this market will, according to Auto Express, be a rebadged and restyled version of the Nissan Juke. You can expect the same sort of light and grille design as the next Clio and the Captur Concept (see photo).
Power will come from either a 1.5-liter diesel with 110 PS or a 1.6-liter petrol with the same output. The turbo version with 190 PS will also be offered, and we’re really hoping this will be re-tuned into the first RenaultSport crossover. Are we asking for too much?
