Renault Announces 2008 Supplier Quality Awards

French manufacturer Renault announced its Supplier Quality Awards to eight suppliers of parts and services. Jean-Pierre Vallaude, Senior Vice-President, Quality, and Christian Vandenhende, Senior Vice-President, Purchasing and Managing Director of the Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organization, handed the trophies which, according to Renault, are especially supposed to reward "excellence in quality".

Renault says the new Laguna is one of the Top 3 models in quality and reliability surveys, while Modus, Clio III and Twingo are also placed among the leaders. Scenic was placed on the leading position in 2008 by the German automobile club ADAC, while Megane was rated among the best of its segment for quality.

Here are eight winners, as announced by the French manufacturer:

  • Delta Invest (regional award) for its remarkable ability to manufacture very complex plastic parts to demanding criteria
  • NGK do Brasil (regional award) for its total quality results and excellent responsiveness in the production of spark plugs
  • Samsong Industries (regional award) for the excellent quality of its rear seat belts and exemplary quality assurance system
  • Gresin (global award) for its quality-cost-delivery performance in the maintenance and modernization of stamping presses and its mechanical engineering skills and responsiveness
  • Hewlett Packard (global award) for surpassing the performance indicators on its help desk services
  • Lagermax AED (global award) for its proactive approach to optimizing logistics flows
  • Perrotton (global award) for the many years of consistent improvement in its turning and machining parts that have made it the number one in terms of quality in its sector
  • SNOP (global award) for the efficient production processes and quality programs that have enabled it to maintain high quality standards in the long term
