Refreshed Vauxhall Antara To Make First Motor Show Appearance in Geneva

The 2011 Vauxhall Antara is scheduled to arrive at next week’s Geneva Motor Show, offering a refreshed exterior design, new engines, revised chassis settings and an upgraded interior. The new engine line-up comprises two diesel units, both meeting Euro 5 emissions standards, combining improved driving performance with significantly reduced consumption and emissions. The 2.2 CDTI diesel engine comes in two output levels. In its entry level form, it offers 163 hp and develops maximum torque of 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) at 2,000 rpm. It is available with front or all-wheel drive and six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. With fuel consumption of 44.8mpg, CO2 emissions of 167g/km it is also one of the cleanest diesel in its segment. Meanwhile, the 184 hp range-topping diesel, producing maximum torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) from as low as 2,000 rpm. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and is available with both transmissions. Improvements to the chassis and the active safety include improvements to the ABS system and the standard fitting of Hill Start Assist (HSA) that also prevents roll-back when driving away on gradients. The speed-sensitive power steering has also been enhanced to offer more accuracy and feel. Depending on model variant and equipment level, distinctive 17, 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels are offered, complementing the new Antara’s bold looks.
