Vauxhall Zafira Tourer Concept Makes World Debut in Geneva

Vauxhall is bringing the “stunning Zafira Tourer Concept” all the way from Luton to Geneva, where it will be the center piece of its stand at the motor show that is taking place next month. The official company statement also announced that the first production version of the Ampera is coming, a model which will go sale in Great Britain at the start of 2012. The concept should give us a clear indication of what the next Zafira may look like. According to the carmaker, it will combine “lounge-on-wheels” luxury with the same level of flexibility and interior space that the Zafira was known for since its launch 12 years ago. “We have transferred the idea of a relaxing lounge to a vehicle and created an automobile oasis, a place to relax and enjoy. The Zafira Tourer Concept’s exterior design also makes a bold statement with its sleek, flowing lines and premium feel,” said Mark Adams, Vauxhall/Opel’s Vice President of Design. We’ve already caught glimpses of the Opel version of the vehicle and we don’t expect much to change when it swaps badges, but a full set of official images and information will be issued on Friday, February 25, just a few short days before the show opens. Interested UK buyers will also be able to catch their first glimpses of production-ready Vauxhall Ampera, that will join the redesigned Antara and Corsa under the Geneva Spotlight. autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
