According to the rumor mill, the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 – America's best-selling pickup truck – is set for the worldwide debut this fall at the Detroit Auto Show (September 13 to 24). So, of course, the rivals are diligently preparing their responses.
The current fourteenth generation of Ford's F-150 entered production three years ago for the 2021MY, so we can call it anything but 'outdated.' Alas, the battle at the top of the full-size pickup truck game looks like a full-time war these days, with GM and FoMoCo duking it out for the crown and trading blows like heavyweights.

And we all know the saying – a third one could sweep in and claim victory when two fight. As far as the 2024 model year is concerned, clearly, the Ford F-150 has the upper hand as Chevrolet is still trying to get the Silverado EV sales underway – and to no avail. But the 2025MY might not be as easy for the best-selling truck of the F-Series, especially if the rumor mill is correct about what comes next from Ram Trucks.

We all know that Stellantis is looking to streamline its offerings and embark on a novel EV lifestyle as fast as possible. And that includes the American-focused brands, with Dodge sending the ICE-powered Charger and Challenger to the retirement home, the ailing Chrysler brand preparing an all-new electrification strategy, and possibly even Ram dropping some of its Hemi V8 assets.

According to rumors, the 5.7-liter and 6.2-liter powerplants might be dropped from production by the end of the 2024 model year, with only the 6.4-liter soldiering in for heavy-duty pickup trucks. But that measure would surely incur a vacuum of power for the popular Ram 1500 series. No worries, the whispers also speak of potential confirmation that the 2025 model year will bring a massive host of novelties.

First and foremost, the full-size pickup truck will get a string of design updates to keep up with the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150. Secondly, it seems the company will introduce a new 'Tungsten' luxury trim that will benefit from adding the 510-hp Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine under the hood. And, naturally, that also enticed the imaginative realm of digital car content creators.

For example, the Halo oto channel on YouTube provides fresh automotive info that is corroborated with their virtual designs; now there is a new CGI take on the facelifted Ram 1500, complete with 'exciting news' about the exterior styling updates of the new model, the potential interior improvements, and also the intriguing powertrain enhancements. Additionally, the channel's pixel master was also keen to showcase the subtly refreshed 2025MY Ram 1500 in a few ritzy colors to bode well for the upcoming new 'Tungsten' premium trim level.
