Although it has sent a tidal wave of novelties across the US market in recent months, Toyota failed to recapture the lost lead in sales during the first six months of the year. General Motors, on the other hand, laughed and carried the crown away.
That's definitely interesting since the most prominent US automaker can't really take pride in too many model successes. Sure, the Corvette is 'America's sports car' even more so after the C8 iteration became a mid-engine hoot – and the Z06 plus first-ever E-Ray are authentic collectibles. Yeah, the full-size trucks do a fine job of taunting the Ford F-Series with their readiness to exploit any opportunity to interrupt its record-breaking delivery streak.

And the company also has enough crossovers and SUVs to discuss without interruption for a day or two. But none of them stand out in any way. Oh, well, that really didn't mean anything for the customers who flocked to GM's dealer network to live home in a Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, or GMC. Speaking of the latter, we should all remember that Chevrolet has started updating its full-size roster by introducing the all-new, redesigned Chevy Traverse.

That means it's only a matter of time before all the other full-size SUVs get their facelifts. But what if the GMC Yukon takes precedence and catches the fast lane ahead of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban siblings? Well, if that didn't happen in the real world, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is always ready and willing to oblige.

So, here are the good folks over at the AutoYa info channel on YouTube who have imagined the CGI looks of the upcoming 2024 model year's GMC Yukon refresh ahead of any Chevy Tahoe shenanigans. The badge-engineered siblings have been around since 1991 (Yukon) and 1994 (Tahoe), with their fifth iteration presented back in 2020 as part of the GMT T1XX platform's team that also includes the Caddy Escalade and Chevy Suburban or GMC Yukon XL.

As far as the GMC Yukon is concerned, its only other major milestone for the current iteration was the arrival of the Denali Ultimate version in 2022, so next year would be the most auspicious time for the mid-cycle refresh – at least according to the channel's host and their resident pixel master. As always, the rumor mill provided the additional information, and then they took care of the design details – in CGI.

Although short, the 2:25-minute video embedded below is quite encompassing as the GMC Yukon was showcased from the front, with the potential rear LED taillights modifications, in an 'old vs. new' manner, and also with the traditional unofficial color reel. So, which of the many luxurious hues is your digital favorite?
