There would be several new models in the making at Alfa Romeo if the famous Italian car brand's fans would suddenly end up at the helm of the company. Here, we'd mention a two-door version of the Giulia, complete with a range-topping Quadrifoglio to take on the BMW M4, alongside maybe a fresh 4C and 8C.
The return of the Disco Volante would probably be on the list, and those into crossovers might fight to see a pair of those, including a business model and another one to sit above it and act as the flagship high-rider. True enthusiasts would also militate for a brand new Alfa Romeo Spider. After all, this was an iconic model with an open-top view of the sky above, a front engine and rear-wheel drive layout, and looks to kill for.

Originally launched in 1966, the first generation was replaced by a new one four years later, which lived on until 1982. The third-gen was introduced in 1983, and in 1990, Alfa Romeo came up with the Series 4. The tradition continued with the GTV-based Spider until the mid-2000s, which was succeeded by the model that was built on the Brera. There hasn't been a proper Spider in Alfa Romeo's lineup for more than a decade for the simple fact that such models are not as popular as they used to be, and the automaker does not seem interested in it anymore.

That's a pity, as a modern-day Alfa Romeo Spider would be extremely sexy, especially if it involves Pininfarina. The famous Italian styling house left its mark on multiple Spiders of the past, so they'd have to sign a hypothetical revival of the nameplate. But since the Italian car marque couldn't give a flying hoot about a modern Spider, several rendering artists have given it a shot at trying to imagine what such a model would look like with fresh styling cues all around. The latest that we came across was futirismo_collective on Instagram, and the result is pure automotive p@rn.

The digital illustrations show a very curvaceous design with large fenders at the front and rear, a pointy nose decorated by the car marque's logo, slim LED headlights, side vents in front of the doors that feature hidden handles, a small windscreen, a double-bubble styling of the rear deck, slender taillights, and an aggressive diffuser that sports cutouts for the quad exhaust pipes. The CGI portrays it in a beautiful red shade riding on concave wheels with a large diameter, and we absolutely love every bit of it. We'd go for one in a heartbeat if Alfa would greenlight it, especially if they'd keep the pricing in check, and we're certain most of you would, too, right?
