General Motors is an interesting case of how the legacy part of the automotive industry fails to adapt to modern times. On the one hand, the Detroit carmaker holds the crown for most sales following the first six months of the year's tally (and Toyota is weeping about that). On the other hand, they continue to disappoint everyone with their infinitesimal Ultium EV sales.
Tesla is like the ultimate surfer rolling the Model Y on top of the charts – both in America as well as Europe, where it just became the best-selling model across all types of powertrains. But GM can't even dare to threaten its position because they want to retire the Bolt and Bolt EUV to make room for more Ultium-based vehicles. Oh, well, they are probably digging their graves – has anyone seen Ford's stock plummeting with billions of losses after slashing the price of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

Maybe it's best if General Motors continues to stick to doing what they do best – make great sports cars like the Corvette and build rugged SUVs. Not long ago, there were rumors that GM would consider making 'America's sports car' a separate brand that would feature a fully-fledged model lineup around 2025 – including an SUV version of the sports car.

It has been a while since the rumor mill decided to quiet down on these whispers for lack of additional details – but that does not mean everyone has forgotten about the hilarious or outrageous perspective (depending on your POV) of going to the local mall center or on a short trail at the wheel of a Corvette SUV. Instead, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has a longer memory, and here is the virtual artist better known as SRK Designs on social media, who has decided to trust his CGI instinct and come up with a dreamy Corvette SUV.

When up close and personal with the initial details in the video featured below, the footage reveals this to be a rough-style sketch-like project. But the Chevy Corvette SUV Concept is more than the sum of its parts that include hidden door handles and massive front air intakes. When the author finally presents the general front-three-quarters POV, it's pretty clear this will rock a Chevy fan's world and even ruffle some feathers because you could treat this digital creation in two ways.

You could choose only the negative points – such as the fact that the design seems inspired by the mélange of signature C8 cues with the styling of the puny, little $22,100 Chevy Trailblazer subcompact crossover SUV. Or you might want to see only the positive aspects – including the fact that we are looking at an SUV concept that feels both cooler and more rugged than a Blazer, for example, as well as utterly prepared to run around the trails like a sporty, rally-inspired maniac.
